back to my childhood really- Cz & I know each other since our childhood-
his aunt is the common factor between the 2 families. We played together as
kids!!!!
Anyway
fast forward to 1996- I went to say goodbyes to his aunt & she gave me his
contact number in Melb.
We
met & became good friends & spent a lot of time together. He was
engaged to someone else then- so it was genuine friendship. Anyway things weeny
too good between Cz & that girl & we became very close. We thought it
was meant to be & decided to be together.
Proposal:
we had a big fight & I was crying & said immature things like " u
don't love me etc"!!!!! So he sat down & asked me to marry him. I
wanted to say yes right away but thought I'll act a bit pricey & said I'll
think about it!!!
It's
been 18 years now!!!! Still feel like it was just the other day - that's the
shortest version !!!!

happen to have 2 love stories...one that failed and one that survived :) You
remember how excited I was when I came back in 1995 and met with you all? My
brother videotaped us all. I will try and find where that video is and maybe
convert it?! Anyways, in that video, I was sharing with the 4 of you about possibly
getting married to AJ the next time I would be in India! I was back in January
1997 (by myself); AJ broke it off and I was a terrible mess :( I literally
cried every day and didn't feel like meeting any of my friends...Even after coming
back to Canada, I was a basket case!

Since,
I had been in love with AJ for so long (I was 15 when I fell in love with
him!); I kinda lost faith and decided that I will be alone AND happy for the
rest of my life :) I actually met Craigley in August 1997...I did not like him
and he thought I was too young for him (he is 8 years older than I am).
Anyways, in 1999, he felt like settling down and thought of all the women in
his life, and decided that he will marry me :) I wasn't aware of all this at
that point in time!

started asking me out...the funniest thing was that he was in Seattle, and I
was in Toronto! This was in April and he wanted to take me out in December when
he came home to visit! I thought he was being silly and having fun...to cut the
story short, he was persistent and refused to leave me alone :) We went out on
only one date...January 2, 2000 and we didn't see each other till literally the
day we got married on April 16, 2000!

The funniest part is that AJ kinda "found" me in 2005 (8 years after
the break up); he got my number and called, and I actually forgave him :) We
are actually friends now. He is married with 2 kids and lives in Singapore!

Okay here goes mine. It is real soap opera and will literally put you all to
sleep.
Met
him in the summer of '88 in my friend's (went to school together) house. My
friend is his cousin. We were both 15 years old. He says it was love at first
sight. It wasn't for me. Soon after that first meeting, my family moved to
vijayawada. We were there for 3 yrs. He was also there studying intermediate.
We only met a couple of times there, but he used to call and send greeting
cards. I still have them all. My family moved back to Hyd in '91. The funny
thing is both our addresses in Hyd were the same except the zip code. One time
their mail was dropped at my home, which I hand delivered to his place. I just
needed a reason to go to his place. So, we were just friends, but knew it was
something more from his side. So I confronted him about it and in August '92,
he told me he loves me more than his life. I penned a letter in which I said I
don't love him, but like him enough to love him. How cheesy is that!!!
Are you guys still awake?!? Back to the story.
After
that cheesy letter, I don't know when I fell in love with him, but I was head
over heels for him. When his cousin (my friend) asked him about it in may '93,
he denied it. I was really mad. It was a few months before we met again. It was
like he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not...
Still watching the soap opera?!?
I
then left for US in Jan '98. We kept in touch regularly and he asked me to
marry him over the phone. Don't remember the date. When he told his parents
about me in summer of 2000, things did not turn out as expected. They did not
agree. Everyone in his family knew and liked me, but marrying into a different
caste was a big NO NO. He was heartbroken and left Hyd. He told me it will not
work out. Of course being stubborn and everything, I did not accept it. I went
to India and met him in Bangalore. We both came back to Hyd. My sister was in
the US and could not come to India due to visa issues. My brother and his wife
met with his parents and brought Bob home. After some more drama, he asked my
dad if he can marry me. My dad of course said yes. He then went back to his
place and told his parents the same. They eventually came around and agreed to
it. We got married on Dec 21, 2000.
Sometimes I wish my love story was a bit more plain.

Two different cultures; so I opted for a Civic Ceremony! The wedding took place
at my parents' best friends' home who are Catholic and Jesus Christ was in the
background! Aunty and Uncle also got the Cake to cut after the ceremony (which
was modeled after a Church ceremony minus the Priest, but with a Minister from
City Hall)!!
